FAQs
What is OnSight?
OnSight is a modular digital reporting and facilities management system. It replaces manual spreadsheets and paper forms with a personal web app for field staff and a real-time management dashboard.
How does OnSight work without Wi-Fi or mobile signal?
The app is fully offline-capable. Submissions and photos are stored locally on the device while offline and automatically sync to the server the next time you use the app once a network connection is restored.
How does OnSight work on mobile devices?
OnSight is built as a progressive personal web app. Staff and contractors access it directly via a web link and can save it to their home screen without needing to download software from an app store.
Do app updates require internal IT deployment?
No. Because OnSight operates as a web app, updates, new features, and module changes deploy seamlessly in the background without requiring internal IT teams or app store approvals. If you need to use your company's Single Sign One system, then this can be easily setup by your IT team during the initial configuration.
Can OnSight be tailored to our organisation’s existing workflows?
Yes, this is where we excel! Following an operational review, forms, custom fields, hidden logic, signature captures, and notification triggers are custom-built around your exact processes in a streamlined manner.
How do different user roles see relevant information in the app?
The system uses role-based module visibility. Based on defined user groups, staff only see the specific forms and tools required for their role, keeping the interface simple and clear. This can be managed by your company's Active Directory or by OnSight's admin backend.
Does OnSight integrate with our existing IT infrastructure?
OnSight is designed to operate as a standalone SaaS system with built-in user management. It can also integrate directly with your enterprise Active Directory / Single Sign-On (SSO) for user authentication and permissions if needed. Whichever makes most sense to your use case.
How do automatic notifications work when an issue is logged?
Automated email triggers send submitted reports, photos, and fault details directly to designated managers or departmental teams the moment an issue is logged in the field. All submissions are also available in the web admin dashboard.
Do third parties or external clients need an account to complete forms?
No. Forms and documents can be sent out via secure web links for external completion and contract signing without requiring the recipient to create an account or install an app.
What reporting capabilities does OnSight provide for management?
The web dashboard converts raw field data into real-time operational insights, trend analysis, and complete audit trails to track recurring issues and team performance. OnSight is not really 'off-the-shelf', it is tailored to your specific operational needs.
Is OnSight a cloud-based software?
Yes. OnSight is a fully hosted SaaS cloud solution, completely maintained and supported on secure infrastructure.
What industries benefit most from OnSight?
It is built for operationally complex sectors including public transport, property management, facilities management, healthcare, venues, and logistics.
How does OnSight maintain digital audit trails?
Every report can include timestamped entries, location details, user identification, signature capture, and photo evidence, providing an unalterable log for safety and compliance auditing.
How quickly can OnSight be deployed across our organisation?
Deployment is rapid because end users do not need to install app store software. Once your custom modules and permission groups are set up, users simply access their secure link to begin. This process typically takes a week or two to gather your requirements, setup SSO integration and build the correct configuration for your organisation. We work with you to add the admin backend's graphs and BI to suit you, so this part can take longer but the app can start being used before this is completed.
Who develops and maintains OnSight?
OnSight was created, developed, and is fully supported by Transparent Design Ltd.
